How ya been?
I think the more websites, books, etc. that an artist gets into the better for their career.
Not all art fits the standard of a site or book and as Misty pointed out there has to be a cut-off time at some point; it does not mean the art that is rejected or arrives too late is not another person's most cherished piece.
There are some absolutely amazing pieces on Epilogue. So it sets a standard. Then there are some pieces that seem to be added just because they are from an artist they are familiar with. And then there are some pieces added that make you wonder if it was submitted by one of the Epilogue judge's kids.
Sure it is an honor to have your work there, but the work that is rejected there, may well be welcomed at another site that has a different set of eyes, a different way of critiquing art. And even if everyone rejects it, a collector may find it to be the most magnificent piece ever created.
Do you remember your mermaid "Trying to Make a Friend"? That never went in Epilogue, but I will take that piece to the grave with me. It is just that special.
I think about you a lot.
