3 things make a post
1. Jo-Ann Fabrics was uber-crazy today. Holiday + day where two coupons intersect = yeah. Dumb bitch at the register screwed up because one of the sale items wasn't showing up -- she was supposed to take 50% off of two skeins of yarn but she took 50% off of one and then took 50% off of it again. However, I'm not going to make a special trip across town just to get $1.49 back. I will, however, bring it up next time I'm there (which will likely be in the next two weeks). Anyway, I did succeed in getting zippers and other mermaid fixin's. Some of them were even on sale!
Partly unrelated: fake cinnamon smell is horrible. GAG.
2. The dimmer switch in the bedroom decided to conk out this morning. It's one of those rocker switches with a slide for the dimmer -- even if it looks "on" it's still off, and when it's off you can see inside the switch. Something's screwed up, and I hate those damn wide rocker switches anyway. I always feel like...um...a "special" child using them because they're so st00pid hy00ge. They're built like those Duplo blocks. I'm a grownup and I want grownup switches, kthx.
Strangely enough, I have a dimmer dial somewhere in the house. We bought it for the house on Pearl Street, but never used it because the hallway upstairs had a 3-way switch and this isn't a 3-way dimmer. Damned if I know where it is, though, which kinda sucks. I like the idea of a slide and a switch on the same panel, though I don't want a large rocker switch again.
In addition to that, our large window off of the kitchen started to leak when we had all that damn rain last month. I don't mean a drop here and there - I mean a veritable curtain of water pouring into the house. Thankfully Coco heard something amiss and Ron was able to get some towels down to keep it from making too much of a mess, but still. We need to figure out what's going on and find out if we have to replace that window.
Shit, it's like a car that's gone out of warranty -- everything's falling apart. But that's home ownership, I guess.
3. On that same slant, I figured out what was wrong with and fixed the cold water hose under the bathroom sink and the linkage assembly for the tub at eruberueth's house. I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR.
