No time for a real post, because I'm working on the second draft of my script. I should get it done for good and all tomorrow - yayness! I can't wait to be able to go out and enjoy the nice weather, instead of sitting here, chained by obligation to my computer.
Anyway. I was looking up about Bill Lynch fairs for inspiration for a scene I'm writing that takes place at a summer fair in the script, and I came across an archived issue of Halifax's free weekly paper, The Coast from January 2003. The editorial section that week was all people writing in to the mayor with their suggestions about what could be done to improve the city, increase tourism, and so on. This is what one guy suggested:
"First of all, I think it's time Halifax gets a CFL [Canadian Football League] team.... A good name for the football team would be the Halifax Hurricanes. It's a tough name."
And eight months later... Hurricane Juan. Methinks his suggestion isn't going to be taken anytime in the next hundred years or so. ^_^;;
That made me snicker, so I had to share, 'cause my sense of humour is sick like that. XD But now, back to work. With luck I'll get through all the difficult rewrites in act two before I get too frustrated and go to bed.
