"I am thinking along the lines of the very fine essay by Robin Morgan making its rounds on the internet tonight: I am not voting for Hillary because she's a woman, but because I am."
Part of me has been tempted to favor Hillary b/c I do believe a woman as President would be awesome and who knows maybe even different. The mother in me can't help but believe that she would have a more compassionate world view and make great strides in areas of health care and the fucked up school system and things that truly matter for children. Or at least she would try.
But she just doesn't do it for me. And the above quote really doesn't do it for me either. How can I vote for someone just b/c she has a vagina? How sexist is that? How does that help things? I will live to see a woman in the white house, but I am not determined that it be now or her.
