awaiting a call because it's 11:30 and we still must rehearse tonight, working at least 14 hours this week, just failed a test today, 20 pages due in the next 6 weeks, juries, another scene and monologue, a directing scene, and working with Antonio right after tomorrow's ass baring scene showing- a fun read for all, The Altruists by Nicky Silver. Oh, and movies- Stage Beauty is finally on DVD, $16 at Wal-Mart. Stop reading this entry and go buy it and watch it, then come back and finish reading. Billy Crudup is a gift from the acting gods. Swoon. Rupert Everett, Tom Wilkinson, Ben Chaplin, Claire Danes, and Richard Griffiths under Richard Eyre's direction ain't too bad neither.
Found a cool play that I'll probably put up with Meaghan next year called Matt and Ben. These two chicks from Dartmouth wrote it and starred as Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Opening scene: a package falls from the ceiling. It is the script of Good Will Hunting. Commence hilarity. BTW- Alex W if you're reading this and looking for a classical audition piece for schools for next year- look at Lord Foppington from The Relapse by Vanburgh. The speech is Fop impressing the ladies and rattling off a list of his daily activities, and how his life is a "perpetual stream of pleasures." A guy in my class is working it and it made me think of you. Very funny, restoration, good stuff. Go to.
Now that I'm done recommending art to all. Ilan-noosh with the moosh-able toosh is moving to Tallahassee! HOLLA! Fizinally! Go us!
So...Passover is ruining my life. I haven't told my parents yet because I still have to talk to the head of my program before I worry them, but my plane leaves out of JAX about two hours before my jury in Tallahassee. Hopefully Jean will let me jury a week before at the performance faculty meeting. If not, a crapload of bling bling out of my pocket to change flights and very little family time the weekend before finals- 17 credits (6 classes) worth of finals. This is the same fucking holiday that kept me from getting a callback to R&J because of schedule conflict. And then I can't even eat carbs during finals week I hate Passover I hate it hate it hate it.
And Purim is this week, I think a Purim party is to commence Saturday night at LKHOP? Will double check with Ren but Han will be out of town- she's got an interview with Coach in NY! I wish I were home though- I love hearing Granpapi read the megillah.
Tallahasseeans- keep an eye out for roommates for me. I'm looking alone but would not mind sharing a place and cat. Next semester is, despite the administrative advisors screwing me up the goat ass, going to be amazing- Acting 3-Shakespeare, Voice 3, Movement 2, Stage Fight 1, Workshop- marketability, private singing lessons. Finally I am a theatre student, I say. Sigh of relief.
So juries- looks like it's going to be Imogen from Cymbeline and Portia from Venice. That Shakespeare guy. He knew what he was doing, if you know what I mean. He gave Portia some of the most beautiful lines he ever wrote. I leave you with:
Beshrew your eyes,
They have o'erlookt me, and divided me;
One half of me is yours, the other half yours,-
Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours,
And so all yours!
