It's often said that in a persons final moments here on Earth that they gain complete and total clarity. They call everyone by the right names, remember every little detail from a conversation you don't remember having and they make sure to tell you they love you.
A few of you may have known about this, but I'm sure most of you don't so I'll fill you in.
About a month and a half ago my Uncle Earl was admitted into the hospital, complaining of chest pains.
Over time, his symptoms got worse and we could add kidney failure, nausea, back ache and blood thinning among many many others to the long list of things.
After a few days he went into shock and his heart stopped.
He was resuscitated and brought back.
Angry, he told my Aunt Polly to put him on the DNR [Do not resuscitate] list.
After this, he began to get better, but what we mistook for a full recovery was actually just a few weeks of the Clear Stage. At 10:30 this morning, my Uncle Earl's heart stopped a second time and we let him go.
The viewing is on Monday and the funeral on Tuesday.
If I'm not in school I just want you to know why.
