The bird is in the oven and smells delicious. About an hour to go. All the sides are made except mashed potatoes. Pumpkin pie is ready. We're even caught up on dishes. I cobbled together a White Russian with the end of a bottle of Kahluha Mudslide and Smirnoff 100 proof. So everything is nice and mellow. I watched some of the first game of NFL and the second game is beginning to look like a rout, so I probably won't watch much of the second half.
We've been trying to whittle down some of out DVR stuff (it hovers around 90% full) with Melissa & Joey and Nick Swardson's Pretend Time. I like both of these shows. It sounds like Pretend Time isn't doing well and probably won't get a second season. I think it's funny. Especially the Gay Robot.
Last Night I watched a couple Hawaii Five-O's. Great show. There were a lot more views of Hawaii in these last two. Hell's Kitchen: I hate the contestants. No one should win. The Middle was hilarious with Norm MacDonald and John Cullum as Mike's brother and father. Possibly the best episode so far. Modern Family was also it's usual brilliant self. Tuesday night, I watched another Nova about the Search for Solomon's Mines. It was heavy on archaeology again, focusing on this Biblical era copper mining and smelting center in the lower Dead Sea valley. Pretty interesting. The evidence seems to cast doubt that David and Solomon were rulers of as massive an empire as the Bible would lead you to believe. Adventure Time this week was awesome. Regular show featuring fake band Mordecai and the Rigbys was brilliant. Robotomy was really good. The Venture Bros. season finale hit a new high with Henchman #21 possibly turning good, the debacle of Hank and Dean's prom, whatshisface from SPHINX inheriting OSI and Brock Sampson apparently putting the final hurt on that Russian bimbo. Also watched the Undercover Boss featuring a co-CEO of the Cubs. It was great to see inside Wrigley Field. The boss was one of the least successful at the entry-level jobs among the episodes I've seen, but he did learn a lot and I feel good about the Rickett's family moving the Cubs forward.
With T-Day, there isn't much to watch tonight, but I might watch a program on History about aliens and the Third Reich. I mean, what says Thanksgiving more than extraterrestrials and Nazis?
