Here's a getting you up to date post.

Since last year a few things have changed. Katie and I got married on August 1. It was a civil ceremony at the Courthouse with a judge, our parents, some brothers and sisters and Rose and Enron. It was super hot which is not good because I perspire easily. The ceremony was nice. Afterwards, we all went to the Brew Pub. Married life has been wonderful.

I have developed diabetes. I don't have to take insulin, but my blood sugar was sky-high for awhile. With diet and medication, the numbers are once again in the normal range. I left out exercise because I don't really get enough exercise. My blood pressure also got out of control. It's always been low, so that's kind of a bummer for me. I take medication for that also. I just went to to the dr and my bp is fairly good. A little high for me, but pretty good. I also lost 5 pounds since the last visit 2 months ago. I'm still overweight, hovering around 220. I really need to shed 20-30 pounds this year.

I haven't been watching much anime lately. I'm reading more and playing LOTS of CIV 2 and Diablo 2. At least that keeps me out of trouble. We got DVR recently. It seems like we wind up watching less tv. LOL But at least we have some stuff recorded that we would have otherwise missed or would have to have downloaded. I'll try to post something intelligible about books, manga, graphic novels and tv soon. If I tried right now, it would be mush.

My parents have "retired" (Dad still does consulting work, travels and is part owner of a local window factory...I don't see him ever retiring) to Mt. Juliet, TN (just east of Nashville). We visited there for Christmas. It was really nice. Nice house in a retirement community with all the amenities. I hadn't been in Nashville for 30 years (used to live in the area in the 70s)! I got to visit the Great Escape (comics store), the Parthenon at Centennial Park, Whole Foods (first visit for me and Katie...that alone was an awesome experience) and my first college, David Lipscomb. There is much more to mention, but not in a catch-up post at 5am. The holidays were very nice.

Generally speaking, everything else is much the same.

I'm posting from Katie's netbook that she got for Christmas. This is my first time using it. I like it, but I'm unused to it and it's a bit weird.
