sorry this may be an old topic but i don't really care. um...this is for all you "non-christian" people who get offended when people say Merry Christmas. First and formost you kids need to realize that this nation was founded on christian values. Everywhere you look in our government there is evidence of this fact. All you children who subscribe to the Happy Holidays greeting because you don't believe that religion has a place in America need to revisit the ol' dictionary and look up the origin of the word holiday. It in fact means Holy Day. So if we are to be completely politically correct and careful not to offend anyone we would say something like "happy day that used to actually have some meaning to it but now it's not thought to be correct to be different in america" in order to not offend the atheists. In addition, I'd like to quote Thomas Jefferson...Thomas Jefferson was an atheist like some of you. But for some odd reason he went to church every sunday. One reporter asked him why he did that. He replied that the American people looked to him to be a leader and that without God this country would fail. Also, people who get offended when people give them a holiday greeting that is of a religious background other than their own need to seriously get a life. There are plenty of children starving and baby seals being ruthlessly murdered for their skins to be worried about instead of something someone said to you in the act of being kind. So whether you are a Christian or a Muslim or a Jewish Rabbi you should realize that everyone of those religions believe that Jesus was a great philosopher, prophet, and the Son of God. And now i make an end of my sayings...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
