on being sappy

Hey babes

Despite spending an evening with a friend exchanging horror stories about stalkerish guys

i just found out sth which seems to be the only happy thing that has happened to anyone i know recently, in terms of romantic stuff

Or maybe it's not all that happy, or so you say, but y'know, i'd like to think that it is. So, hrmm.

The last three movies i watched were Finding Neverland - which is sappy but not in a romantic sense - more about johnny depp and the kids in the movie...

Someone Like You (on tv), which i remember coming out a few years ago because of the hype that was associated with Hugh Jackman being topless in the movie - also, it is Hugh Jackman before he went clumpy (same thing for watching buffy season 2 - David Boreanaz has gotten chunky in recent years - not fat, just... yknow.) But err, i digress - it was typical romatic sappy, though very funny as well, with a typical happy ending.

And finally, today, caught Shakespear in Love again - one of my favourite movies of all time, really... and i was amazed at how much R&J lines i still remembered from O level lit - i was quoting off with the actors on screen... err. It's a sad ending though... no off into the sunset.

It kind of struck me as very PCM... okay, PCM is this thing Dali thought up - Paranoid critical method

basically, it's "the spontaneous method of irrational knowledge based on the critical and systematic objectifications of delirious associations and interpretations" - "Each fact, event, force, observation is caught in one system of speculation and understood by the afflicted individual in such a way that it absolutely confirms and reinforces his thesis - that is, the initial delusion that is his point of departure."

Anyway, that's from this reading i had to do for design... and for some reason the above events all make sense connected together to me.

Maybe i'm more paranoid than critical, yeah?

Okay, haha, sorry for stealing your blogging style... Tried to think up a 'thought-provoking' question, but really couldnt be bothered in the end. :P
