i thought it would be interesting to find a plausible reason out why DOSA, was so changed to thosai, in south east asia.... and here it is...

But you see, dosa in Bahasa Malaysia means sin, so I didn't get very far asking for it... Maybe for this reason as much as for any other, dosa is transliterated in Malaysia as thosai or tosai.
And haven't you complained before about how the thosai here is so adulterated and bastardized that it's almost unrecognizable? That's because it's thosai, and not dosa. :)
