more fun at casa loma

So today was a nice day of productivity:

I went for a dry run of what its going to be like to be a Maid Clown at Casa Loma for Saturday - I am Loretta, named by myself, and I have been fitted with a HUGE ass made of boning and wire.  My maid costume is stuffed with huge boobs too - its really quite strange to manouver....  but yes its HILARIOUS to look at.  So if youre in the neighborhood I'm going to be roaming "cleaning" and "mopping" the castle tee hee :P

Then it was time for stage combat. Ahhhhhhh - the sweet muscle strain of using the heaviest broadsword in the room.  I chose it because last night I waited (and waited and waited and waited some more) with Joshua until 12:01 am to see
Dear god I wasn't able to blink - it was too gorgeous!  And the fights - *gasp* was only upstaged by the gorgeous men.  *sigh.  Then again there was a lot of boob happening but hey, tit for tat (pun intended).  Regardless of body beauty, the movie was fantastic (don't listen to critics).  The problem with comparing it to Frank Miller's other film (Sin City) is that this is a snippet of a complete story line.  It is just the story of the 300.  One in particular actually - King Leonidas - unlike Sin City which I found to be a complete story line with perspectives changing to tell the story.  Here, in 300, it didn't rotate or shift.  It was narrated and a lot of people are complain its just a film about a war.  Uh, HELLOOOO  of course it is!  Its just about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C!  THATS IT.  And just the 300's influence on it - nothing leading up to it, nothing after it (well a lil either way but nothing like a prologue or epilogue...)  Its a beautiful war film set in a comic universe that happens to mirror our history.  Well, Spartas history at least.

So nevermind them and see it.  Now.  On Imax.  Even the blood is entertaining (Oh Frank - I would pay to hear him say something like "we'll get that blood in post"  because there is so much Frank Miller post blood that its as if a 3 year old got a red paint brush and decided to use his hands to throw it at the canvas instead.

So yes.  And then tonight I watched Titanic to brush up on my Rose character that I will be portraying at The Science Center next week.  I was told today that my dress will be similar to the white one with the huge hat when she boards the ship.  Excellent.  My counterpart gets to wear her first party dress, the one where she tries to jump ship and Jack finds her.   This is going to be fun.

But enough procrastinating - I have to practise my monologue for tomorow's children's theatre company audition.  A touring gig, would be my first time doing that.... gah!

stage combat, clown, acting stuff, movies, auditions
