What a difference a few weeks makes! Things have been changing around here, and definitely for the better. First off, and the real reason for this post...THE KITTENS HAVE ARRIVED! Desdemona gave birth to 5 of the most gorgeous kittens last night. We have 3 that are black and white (my brother says they look like cows), one that's solid blue (which is kind of a smokey gray color) and one that's blue and white. They're tiny and squeaky and adorable, and anyone who wants to come by to see them is more than welcome. We should have them for the next 10-12 weeks, and they'll only be getting cuter as time goes by. I'll probably post pictures periodically too, for those of you who are too far away to see them in person.
While I'm here updating, I might as well update on the rest of my life as well. I guess there are a few things I could talk about, since things have been so busy lately.
Working two jobs is defintely not an easy thing to do. It's working out ok, but getting home from a long day at camp and knowing that I still have 4 hours of standing and being nice to people isn't always the most thrilling thing. I do really like working at Victoria's Secret, but going there after a whole day of wrangling 5 year olds...blah. It'll definitely be worth it when I get my paycheck tho. I also think that it's something that I'll get used to doing. As time goes on, it'll get easier and easier as I get used to the flow of things. The good thing is that I really do like both of my jobs. Camp is AWESOME so far. My kids are adorable, even if they are kind of a handfull. My co counselors are some of the best I've had in a while, cuz they actually do stuff instead of sitting around gossipping and flirting with girls...which I guess is ok too, but this is a lot wasier for me. A bunch of my friends are also back, which always makes it more fun. Jamie and Colleen are back representing for the BK girls, which is awesome. I love my girls, and we always have a blast. A bunch of the other Stepping Stones crew is back too, which is awesome. I definitely also love having Jon around, since he's awesome...and my only connection to the workd outside the Stepping Stones, lol. He's also a huge help on the van, which seems like it might have its rough points this summer. Those kids are awesome, bu slightly insane. That might just be an Elmwood thing tho, lol. Elmwood kids are definitely a whole different breed...which I can say because I was one when I was little. Anyway, I'm rambling...Being so busy does mean that hanging out with Ossining friends isn't going to be as easy as it previously was, but I think that I can handle it and make sure that I get my time in with my boys.
Speaking of which, the social scene around here is so much better than I had hoped it would be. We've definitely already had our fair share of drama, but for the first time in a good long while, I really feel like part of the group here in Ossining. Last summer was a nightmare, but this summer has been a dream, so far...(*knocks on wood*) the guys have been amazing, and they've gone so far out of their way to include me, which means more to me than they'll probably ever know. They're such awesome guys, and I value them SO much as friends...I'm so lucky to have a group of people who have my back whenever I need them, and I know I can count on each and every one of them to be there for me. And of course there's already been the "who likes who" drama...that got slightly complicated for a little while, but it seems to be working itself out pretty nicely for now ;-)
ANYWHOO...I'm freaking exhausted. I was up till 6 helping with the kittens, and then got up at 10:30ish when someone came to visit them and the dogs barked like crazy. I'm going to take a nap before I have to go to work. I'll be there from 6:30-10:30, then coming home to pass out before work tomorrow. This is going to be one long (but awesome) summer...
