The power adapter for my Powerbook has charged its last battery. I have no idea how long it will be until I have the money to buy a new one. (And dayum, I'm having quite the time just finding an G3 adapter) Hmm, at least I think it's just the adapter that's fried- if it's the battery itself I'm totally fucked. Stupid computers. Actually, I'm most pissed because my bank account number is in there and right now I have no way of checking my balance. Feh.
Have any of you heard of the Homeland Fascism law that RI's governor was looking to pass? Among other things, it would criminalize talking about overthrowing the government or anarchy, and would eliminate the right of freedom to assemble. Fortunately, it got shot down right quick. Lordisa, what a great time to be a Rhode Islander- first the whites-only scholarship and now this. I've thought the governor is a complete moron since the whole Narragansett debaucle, but I never thought he was this... scary. Feh.
Today is the one year anniversery of the Station fire. Coincidentally, a friend's band is playing a small nightclub in my hometown tonight. Even if I did have a babysitter, I so would not go. Nuh-uh, no way.
This morning, I called my mom at home to see when my dad would be getting out of the hospital. Imagine my great shock when he picked up the phone!!! His doctors were dumbfounded by his quick recovery, like how he was up walking around two days after his surgery, so they let him out early. Yay! He's doing quite well, still hopped up on serious painkillers, but otherwise just fine. The Bob on painkillers show is even more amusing than the Jenn on Valium show. (Once, the night before I was having a procedure done on my jaw, and had to premedicate, Stu decided to take me out to Bickford's. We refer to that night as the Jenn on Valium show.)
I have a new phone number, I'll post it later. Jessindistress, is your phone still broken? Because I want to try ringing you with the new mobile. Maybe this one will do international calls correctly.
I want a lifetime supply of Magic Erasers.
