Dear Weather,
Hi, it's me. I know we don't talk much anymore, but this is important. You've changed, it's like I don't know you anymore. See, last week, I was wearing my winter coat. This week, temperatures are in the eighties. It's four thirty in the morning right now, and I should at least be getting some sweet relief from your fiery tantrums, but it's still seventy degrees out.
Now, don't get me wrong, seventy is nice. It's balmy, t-shirt and sandals weather, and I'm down with that, I really am. But you're moving too fast here, weather, and it's not good for either of us. In years past, you've given us New Englanders a period of adjustment between ski season and beach season. Maybe you remember it, it's called Spring? As the days get longer, they get proportionally warmer, and next thing we know, it's July, and ninety degrees out, and we're all feeling fine.
But this suddenness lately? It's not fine. It must stop. And I need to tell you now, before the next adjustment season, because New England just isn't going to work as a two season region, and because Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I won't forgive you if you cancel it. You need to slow down, before you completely destroy our tourist industry, to say nothing of our heating and cooling units. And if you must keep up with this summer atmosphere, can you at least hold off until I get my air conditioner fixed?
Thanks.

Your friend,
J
