User Modeling Scientist

Nebuad is a venture-capital backed multinational high-tech company based in Silicon Valley. We are an innovative new player in a fast growing world of online advertising.  We offer a dynamic, exciting and high profile career, and a competitive compensation package. Our St. Petersburg R&D team was formed 3 months ago and is rapidly expanding.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducting applied research in user modeling, user online behavior, user classification or related areas in the context of large online data repositories environments, such as user click stream data
• Execution of such projects, including:

• Design user representation based on his/her navigation pattern and on webpage classification
• Design the relationship between the user interests and his/her purchasing patterns

• Implementation of prototypes and design of experiments to evaluate them

• Performing the experiments to validate key algorithms and architectures associated with such prototypes, followed by written reports

• Maintenance of user interest classification

• Collaboration with software engineers engaged in the construction of prototypes and production codes 
  

Qualifications/Skills

• "Can-do" attitude, ability to approach and solve new problems
• Expertise and experience in information retrieval, data mining, machine learning or related fields
• Programming skills: Java, Perl, Python, SQL, C/C++, shell scripting
• Knowledge of Unix and math background is a plus
• Experience of working with large datasets a plus 
• Strong written and oral communication skills, good written and spoken English
• Team player, good interpersonal skills, ability to work against tough deadlines
• Strong work ethic, diligent and reliable
