My Favorite Holiday Tradition started when I was very young. Which would always be on Christmas eve.
I remember my mother would dress us kids up in our finest clothes and drive to Newcastle all the while we would be singing Christmas carol's in the back of the car.
We would first go to David Jones and look at the beautiful Christmas displays they used to have in their windows.
Sadly they don't do them any more. It really was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Then we would drive around all the houses still singing Christmas Carols which by now mum and dad had joined in on as it was
contagious and we would drive past all the lovely houses that were displaying their Christmas lights, we would ooh and ah and point out the ones we liked best.
We would always end up at Uncle Des and Aunty Carlene's house where they would shower us with toys and affection ,as they had no children of their own.
On our way home we were always so excited about what we had just seen and done and we would all talk at once.
It is such a great memory. Sadly Aunty Carlene passed away this year but I will always remember how special She and Uncle Des made our Christmas eve as children.
