So I had my shindig for the President tonight. It was beautiful, quite inspiring. If you all thought I was motivated before, you don't even know the half of it. So stay out of my way leftists because if you don't, you'll either be humiliated or converted.

I know that the host of this page will disagree with me, but I think that your vote was acceptable. Allow me to explain. At the mayoral level, there are only so many things that can be done that would fall into a partisan category. At least for me, the primary issues such as welfare, abortion, national defense; these things cannot be governed by a mayor. So, on the majors, I don't think that voting for a democrat is some huge sin. With that being said, there are significant reasons not to vote democrat at the mayoral level. The primary reason is fiscal management. A democrat is going to have a different way of looking at taxation and spending than will a republican. Another reason the differentiate is the size of government. A liberal or democrat likes large government whereas republicans tend to favor smaller government (at least it used to be that way.) These are just a few reasons why the choice is important and party affiliation, although not overtly publicized, should be taken into account at the mayoral level. However, the mayor is not going to have a great deal of impact on the national political scene, therefore her being reelected is insignificant to the democratic party overall. Now the national level is different. You should always vote down party lines at the national level. Why? One word: committees. Who cares what the candidate thinks, it is the total tally of democrats vs. republicans that determines committee chairmanship. Committee chairmanship determines what bills get to the floor for vote, and that is just the surface of what committees do. So, for mayor - no biggie, but at the national and state level, voting dem would be a big no no.
