Oh boy, an assignment!
Tobywolf tagged me with listing my top ten favorite movies (10-1) and with writing one and only one sentence why.
I am listing films that I thoroughly enjoyed watching and wanted to see again, as opposed to films such as “Saving Private Ryan”, and “Schindler’s List”, that are excellent and moved me, but which I have no desire

Wallace and Grommit---Squee. I had a sixth grade history teacher that showed the films to us and I loved them (or maybe just the shorts back then). Whatever. I'm a sucker for stop motion and a bigger sucker for those guys.
Shanghai Knights - I love Jackie Chan. That is all.
T2 - is an awesome movie. I rewatched it one night in Bolivia and had forgotten how much I loved the film. Even 15 years later the CGI is still amazing, and that poor sap who played Miles Dyson has never gotten over the not-quite-right-in-the-head genius scientist casting (see SV's Dr. Hamiilton and his newer gig on Eureka).
Rear Window - I adore Jimmy Stewart. I love Hithcock and this is the movie that freaking Disturbia ripped the Hell off. So, so much better. However, if I am going to pick my favorite Stewart/Hitchcock combo it has to be "Rope." There is no better Hitchcock film (yes I have seen Psycho). It's amazing and I adore that film.
Die Hard - a friend talked me into watching it in order to catch up for when the fourth one hit theaters and I have never been happier to be talked into something. I love John McClane and his relationship with Carl Winslow over the phone is great platonic man-love. And a pre-Snape evil Rickman. Incidentally, I have a list of fics I want to get to. I plan to do a two-for-one deal of a Shelby fic and an Intertextuality fic by having the threesome sit down and watch Die Hard 4 (Chloe feels for her fellow Irishmen and Shelby still hasn't grasped the concept of the buddy cop comedy yet.)
Sound of Music - Once upon a time, I came up with a scam to avoid going to sleep. My strategy was to get my mom to tell me bed time stories. However, I insisted she tell me the unedited versions of both Gone with the Wind and the Sound of Music.
I was three.
And she totally bought it. I am the only child in history whose bed time story came with an intermission. I've loved the Sound of Music ever since and once sang "Eidleweiss (sic)" as an audition piece.
2) Empire - Only star wars movie I actually like. Yoda is introduced and we have that great dark showdown between Luke and Vader. Classic.
Glad the Princess Bride and It's a Wonderful Life merit a mention!

The implication here is that you are not an Indiana Jones fan. That is outrageous! I may have to de-friend you now. But here's the deal: if you give Indy another chance, I will watch Halloween or any one of the others on your list that you choose.
