Ficathon Prompts

So, I got my prompt yesterday. Did you get yours? Are you as ridiculously thrilled as I am? I am so delirious with joy, I can barely contain my glee. I even bought a book on Amazon for research and I have another on my nightstand. It is just the thing to lift the recent and persistent miasma.  Feeling nostalgic for when I used to write like this all the time, I started scouring the Internets for my old stories, from old verses, under my old mystery names.  I'm trying to remember how I used to write like that way back in a day when writing adult content for adult audiences was not so very remarkable.  I'm old enough and the Internet content has changed enough that a lot of those things that felt daring 10 or 15 years ago seem quaint by comparison now. I'll be dusting off some long unused tropes and gosh darn it, I donated all my reference material to the library (anonymously).  It's hard to find my old stuff now -- most of it predates ff.net, though I found one story and the others are all or were all on private archives.  Back in about 2004, I destroyed every bit of derivative fic I had ever written, saved, or beta'd -- I gave the kids screwdrivers and pliers and we trashed over 100 old floppy disks and then I erased the hard drive to mark the end of an era.

Ahh nostalgia.  It's the little things.
