Now I wonder if Peter's presence might have diverted the course of history from Bucky Barnes's becoming the Winter Soldier. Or did he join after that? I don't recall Bucky being on the scene in that pub meeting.
It seems quite fitting that the two powerhouses of the Avengers both met Lucy. Of course she'd be able to lift Thor's hammer; this could have been totally Mary Sue, but your version didn't strike me that way-perhaps because your Lucy has some of the quality of the movie Hermione who says, "Harry, sometimes it is just that simple!" But then there's the operative clause: "Shall possess the power of Thor." You don't show Lucy becoming a physical titan or gaining control of the weather or even becoming suddenly decades younger; did she not gain "the power of Thor," or did it manifest in her in some less overt way?
And now you make me wonder where and when Lucy met Thor before this scene.

The power of Thor -- well the reason why I was so intrigued by the prompt was the idea of the old Lucy, the Lucy who beguiles Bruce, the Lucy who is the warrior and the healer, who burns with a passion and fire so bright she blinds the inner eye, a Lucy who is OLD and gray, well, yes, such a character as that might have the power of Thor -- that innate goodness and nobility. The prompt could have gone in a romantic direction and I just love Jane and Darcy, and I'd written old Lucy before, so that was where it went.
As for the Howlers timeline, and Peter, I really don't know. The timeline of the movie is a bit whacky and so I just did the best I could. I know that in the Avengers Xover I was assuming that Bucky had disappeared. It's set after D-Day and I assumed that Bucky had "died" in the runup to D-Day I think.
If we're doing AU, any of them could have met Tony. The most logical would probably be Susan, through Pepper. Susan is like a wise woman crone mentor to Pepper's corporate climb. They talk about how to budget and how to better run a meeting and personnel problems and very boring things that matter to running a successful business. And they go out to pedicures or tea.
Uhmmmm.... I may have to write that...
Thank you for reading!
