YAY, so glad you like it!

You'd mentioned Lupercalia before, so as soon as I saw the prompt, the gears started turning. And then came the idea to combine it with a full moon, and it all fell together.

I love the idea of the golden wolf who "drives away the wolves of night," too... And I think Remus needs to hear that sort of thing much more often, that it's possible to be a "good" kind of wolf, too :-)

What stereolightning said, heh -- I was also really struck by the way the somber first few lines, followed by the banter and smiles and warmth -- works to show Remus reemerging from the pain and danger of the transformation and coming back to himself and his life.

I adore this stubborn, loving Tonks, and the way Remus has come to where he doesn't feel he needs to try too hard to push her away. And I really like the way she can make him laugh, which is probably what he needs most of all after the full moon -- that, and a gentle touch and some snuggling under the blanket, of course. Aww.

Thank you! Yeah, that's where I like to think they've ended up by this point in DH - understanding each other so well that they hear the subtext too, and know how to help each other even when the other is protesting they don't need help (cough, Remus) - and, yeah, that Remus has become more willing to accept that help, too, and is even able to show that he appreciates it!

Thank you! Yeah, I love writing stubborn Tonks, who understands what Remus needs and won't let him sneak his way out of it :-) And thank you also about the last line, because that's something I still find quite hard, finding endings/ending lines that work.
