Summary: On their wedding night Remus and Tonks encounter an odd lucky charm which brings them more than they realize.
AN: Wow. This really did come out of the blue. I knew I wanted to do a lighter DH piece for this ficathon. I also knew that I wanted to expand my horizons a bit in regards to more *ahem* "mature" fics. I was working on something completly different for the "Accio, touch, beneath" prompt, when I saw the Spider web picture and became inspired. Hope you enjoy!

The room was small and desolate. One lone window allowed the light of a half moon to filter through plaid curtains which clashed horribly with the yellow paint lining the walls. Beneath the window stood a bed, barely large enough to accommodate the man and woman currently occupying it; though they did not seem to mind.

The man was lying on top of the woman, moving his hands up and down her long, lean legs. Her white dress robes had been discarded and now lay across the dirt brown floor accompanied by his robes and white collared shirt. The man moved his hands upward to caress the top of her thighs which were hardly covered by the small white slip she still wore. He busied himself further by planting small kisses along her throat. The woman threw her head back.

“Remus?”

“Mmm,” the man continued along his path, dipping his head to her collar bone and licking the exposed skin.

“Remus, there’s a spider web above the bed.”

The man looked up for a moment, perplexed.

“I can not be doing this right if you’re worried about spider webs.”

“No- no, it’s not, I mean-well, look at it.”

He groaned in protest as the woman rolled out from underneath him, and shot a dark glare at the offending web.

“Tonks, really, if it bothers you I could just…”

He sighed and reached for a wand which sat at the bedside table; took it in hand and pointed it directly at the spider’s web.

“No!”

He jumped slightly at the ferocity of her resistance, and placed the wand back on the dresser.

He looked to the woman, who was staring up at the spider web; an awe struck smile gracing her lips.

“Dad always said spider webs were good luck.”

“Did he?” The man’s voice held only the slightest ebb of impatience.

“Yeah. He used to say that if you saw a spider web, ‘specially in your home, it meant that something really, really good was about to happen.”

“I must say that, in all the reading I’ve done over the years, I’ve never come that particular superstition.”

“Oh, I think he made it up. He never particularly liked having to clean them, even if it did only take a flick of his wand. Still…it is beautiful isn’t it?”

The man looked to her briefly before turning his gaze back to the web.

“Beautiful is not exactly the term I would use, darling.”

The woman rolled her eyes.

“You have to look at it properly.”

She rose to her knees and gently placed her hands on the back of his head, guiding his eyes to the web.

“See the way the light hits it?”

She leaned over and whispered in his ear, making sure his eyes remained fixed on the spider’s web hanging freely in the corner.

“D’ you see all the different colors folded into it? All the shapes it makes when it shifts? I can see why flies would be attracted to it. ‘S the perfect trap really.”

She emphasized this last point by placing a kiss on his earlobe. The man closed his eyes involuntarily, as her lips forged a path across his throat, her hands moving from the sides of his head to nestle in his hair.

“Beautiful,” he said, though his mind clearly was not on the web in question.

“Now,” she kissed his shoulder and her hands left his hair in order to caress his chest.

“We’ll just have to wait and see…” she kissed his jaw, her hands ventured lower and the man let out a low moan.

“What really,” She moved to the other side of his head to kiss his cheek bone.

“Really,” a kiss against his neck “good thing happens to us.”

“Dora…” he muttered before turning to kiss her fully on the mouth, cupping either side of her face. After a moment he broke the kiss only to rest his forehead against hers.

“I think it’s already happened,” he moved his hands to stroke her neck, staring at her, apparently transfixed.

“Do you?” She asked, a note of playfulness in her voice, as she allowed him move her back down to the bed sheets.

“Well,” he moved his hand underneath her slip. She gasped.

“I think it was very lucky, for me, that a beautiful, bright, young woman willingly stood up in public and agreed to be my wife.”

She uttered a small sound, which might have been his name, as his free hand began to pull one slip strap from her shoulder.

“And I also think it very lucky that, the beautiful young woman in question is now lying in my bed.”

He dipped his head, and allowed his mouth to pay homage to her exposed breast.

”Remus”

That was the last intelligible word spoken in the room before the rising sun cast a brighter light on the spider web, which truly brought more luck than the couple dared to imagine.
