Author: bratty_jedi (Rachael)
Format: Drabble (100 words)
Rating: All Audiences
Prompt: 30 (July 15): ‘The soul of this man is in his clothes.’ - William Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well.
Warning: Angst
Summary: "His small wardrobe swam out of focus as tears filled her eyes."
Author's note: The highly stylized format of this piece (exactly 20 words in each of the first three paragraphs and 40 in the last) is something unusual for me and probably the closest I will ever come to poetry. Let me know what you think.
Disclaimer: I own none of this. J. K. Rowling and assorted companies including but not limited to Bloomsbury, Scholastic, and Warner Brothers own everything. They also make all the money. I am just having fun and in no way seek financial profit from their property.

Patterned sweaters with the occasional ink stain that suited him as a man of intellect, a professor and a scholar.

Faded jeans just beginning to show a few tears and holes that hinted at the Marauder spirit he always maintained.

Old and worn formal dress robes that served to highlight the quiet dignity with which he faced his life's hardships.

His small wardrobe swam out of focus as tears filled her eyes. How could she choose just one outfit to represent such a complex man for all eternity? How could she choose the clothes in which to bury her love?
