success?

Last night I created the maiden batch of chesapeake fried okra. Was it a success? Well... it's hard to say.

They taste like what I expected, so on that front the creation is successful. If success is based on whether they taste good, I can't really answer. I find that though they taste the way I want them to, I still do not like okra. I will grant that these are some of the best-tasting okra I've ever eaten (screw false modesty), but not being an okra-phile, they still wouldn't be something I'd find myself ordering.

So arrangements have been made -- oh, yes. Some of the okra shall be delivered (because it has to be done), and the recipients shall feast upon them tonight, along with the delicious remnants of very good seafood (for which these okra, being Chesapeake Fried Okra, will be a very appropriate sidedish). And The Husband of 3 names, who is the acknowledged lover of okra, shall render a judgement. Then will I know if it is a success or not.

edit: Just tried some more after reheating by toasting in the oven. Not bad; pretty good in fact, especially for a veggie I do not like. We shall see what the Okra King says.
