Summary: Yesung is a queer, but not the gay kind. Aside from his common flings with random girls and the tendency to hurt himself - emotionally - he really doesn't have much of a life. Things start going out of order when he meets the new sophomore in the math class he teacher assists in. It seems he's been "living in the moment" for too long, causing him to forget things and people of his past.
Kyuhyun's background isn't as simple as it seems and trouble starts heading his way as soon as he starts getting involved with Yesung. Their mutual attraction is anything but subtle, yet, Yesung can't accept the fact that he's... gay. How can Kyuhyun make Yesung understand that love goes beyond gender before everything becomes too late?

The two had fallen asleep soon after they satisfied themselves with several sweet words and romantic gestures. For a short while, Kyuhyun almost thought he owned the world and all it's happiness with Yesung lying beside him; heaving with hard breaths and flushed cheeks. When he woke the next morning, Yesung was no longer in the room. He was alone.
Quickly, Kyuhyun dressed himself and headed out the door. As he exited the hall and entered the living room, clean from the mess created during the party prior, he heard speaking from the kitchen.

“I know, babe, I'm sorry,” Yesung apologized over the phone. Kyuhyun walked in and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, watching as Yesung managed to busily make breakfast and comfort his girlfriend over the phone. “I'm really sorry I didn't call you yesterday, I know I shouldn't have ditched you.” Kyuhyun sneered. “Babe, I have to go. I know, I'm sorry. Yeah, I'll see you later. Yes. I love you.”

“You ditched your girlfriend for sex?” Kyuhyun laughed.

Yesung shrugged, “I'm a man after all. Men can't say no to sex.” He handed a plate of eggs, ham and toast to Kyuhyun as they made their way to the dining table. “Did you sleep well?”

Kyuhyun nodded, “when did you get up?”

“A few hours ago, I was a bit sore and couldn't really sleep,” Yesung sighed, “it happens, I guess.”

Yesung walked back into the kitchen after scooping some eggs into his mouth, Kyuhyun catching every glimpse of it. He returned with two cups of orange juice in hand. He took a drink and licked the share of orange juice that slid off of his lips. Kyuhyun reached over with a sheet of napkin and kindly brushed it off for him.

“You were once gay?” Kyuhyun asked as he started picking at his breakfast. Yesung shook his head. “But yesterday-”

“I don't know why I said what I said,” Yesung admitted, “I don't remember ever being screwed by someone. I'm always the pitcher, I'm almost positive that was the first time I was the catcher.” Kyuhyun laughed at his remark. “I was probably just desperate for sex, you were putting me on edge.”

“I asked a question,” Kyuhyun argued.

“During sex? No one tells the truth during sex,” Yesung countered, “or after sex.”

Kyuhyun remembered what Yesung said after they finished with each other the previous night, “you mean not being sure about if you're gay or not?”

“Yeah,” Yesung shrugged, “sex does weird things to people. Even if you're extremely sure you don't want something, after you engage yourself physically with someone... you grow attached. I experienced that for a brief moment.”

“You're trying to say that you're back to your own, straight, self?” Kyuhyun shot out, going straight to the point that Yesung was semi-trying to avoid.

Yesung glanced at Kyuhyun for a brief moment. He could tell Kyuhyun was hurting inside and for some reason, it hurt him as well. “I didn't-” he tried to explain when they were interrupted by the ringing doorbell. “That's probably Min, I'll be right back,” Yesung excused himself before going to answer the door.

Suddenly Kyuhyun saw two figures barge into the living room. “What? Is there someone here you don't want me to see?” A female voice questioned playfully.

“I'm just eating breakfast with a friend. Why didn't you tell me you were coming over?” Yesung asked as she headed for the kitchen.

“Well, I wanted to give you a surprise. Plus, if one of your girlfriends decided to answer the phone, it could cause a major misunderstanding,” the girl laughed. “Oh my,” she exclaimed as she found Kyuhyun sitting at the dining table, “what do we have here?” She glanced over at Yesung with a smug grin, “since when were you into little boys?”

Kyuhyun stood to introduce himself, a little irritated by her calling him a little boy. “My name is Kyuhyun, Cho Kyuhyun, nice to meet you.” She smiled sweetly at him and shook his hand.

“I'm Geunyoung, Moon Geunyoung,” she replied.

The name immediately brought Kyuhyun to his senses, this was the girl his hyungs had been talking about for a long time. The girl Yesung broke up with not too long ago and loved very much.

“Did you need something?” Yesung asked, taking her by the arm.

She shook her head, “I was just stopping by. I just got back from Japan and I got you some souvenirs. Thoughtful, aren't I?”

Yesung smiled weakly. Feeling as if he were intruding on them, Kyuhyun decided to excuse himself. “I think it's time for me to go, I've been lingering around long enough.” Yesung ran to catch up with Kyuhyun and took Kyuhyun's hand into his own, pulling him back to the dining table.

“Geunyoung, this is Kyuhyun,” Yesung introduced as he snaked his arm around Kyuhyun's waist, pulling him in for a quick, subtle kiss, “he's my boyfriend.”

----

It was a sunny day; cool wind breezed through trees, making them sway beautifully in the warm daylight. Kangin, Siwon, Sungmin and Kyuhyun gathered around the front of the school in the late afternoon, sitting on a bench in the midst of the park.

“Why would he do that?” Kangin asked, scratching his head in confusion, “he didn't say anything to you when you guys went to visit your parents earlier, Min?” Kyuhyun shrugged and drank out of his soda while Sungmin shook his head in reply.

Sungmin glanced between the boys, “I think... no, I know he's planning something. I knew there was something weird going on between him and Geunyoung-sshi.” Siwon opened up a bag of chips and threw several pieces into his mouth, he wasn't in the best of moods.

“What did you two do that night? Anything special happen?” Kangin asked the maknae.

“Something obviously had to happen, he stayed the night!” Sungmin teased. Kyuhyun remained silent. “Silent treatment, huh? That just proves my point.”

“He's not recollecting anything at all,” Kyuhyun sighed, “you'd think he would remember it better than I do since he's four years older. His memory sucks!” Sungmin and Kangin laughed.

Siwon swallowed the shattered glomp of chips, “what is it that he's supposed to remember?” He asked curiously.

“Kyuhyun is our adopted cousin. When he was little, we used to all play together. Because he was the youngest amongst all of us, when we played games he would always be at a disadvantage,” Sungmin explained, “Yesung wasn't exactly the nicest person back then... or now.”

“So it's a complex,” Kangin concluded. “Kyuhyun has always remembered Yesung because he was bullied by him. The more he thought about Yesung, the more attracted to him he was and eventually it grew into something more.”

Kyuhyun's cheeks started burning a brighter hint of red, “you make me sound like a masochist! I'm not. I just... it's not... it's just not like that.” The others all laughed heartily as they were approached by a lovely lady.

“Sungmin oppa, Kangin oopa, Siwon-sshi,” she greeted with an adorable smile, giving Siwon a quick hug, “long time no see.” They all nodded at her in surprise. “Kyuhyun-sshi, do you mind if I have a talk with you?” Kyuhyun shook his head as he stood and followed her into the school; the other boys lost in thought and reminiscing on the events that occurred between her and Yesung.

“I-I can't believe she's already back,” Sungmin exclaimed.

“I can't believe she hasn't changed a bit,” Kangin uttered, scanning her from head to toe.

“There's definitely something wrong,” Siwon frowned, his brows furrowing in thought, “something terribly wrong.”

----

“You're cute, you're really cute, you know that?” Geunyoung asked as she came to an abrupt stop, examining Kyuhyun's childish yet mature features. “You're too cute to be gay.” Kyuhyun crossed his arms and stared at her suspiciously, she sighed, “I'm talking about Yesung,” she admitted.

Kyuhyun laughed, “ah, of course you are.”

“I...” she stuttered for a while, “I want him back.” She bit her bottom lip nervously, “I don't know how we ended up the way we did, but... I don't like the way it ended.”

“Well, I can't help you with that,” Kyuhyun sighed. When he realized she was tearing at the corner of her eyes he handed her a pack of tissues and turned to leave.

She caught up to him and took hold of his forearm, “you can, you can help me,” she nearly pleaded, “tell me how to get him back.” Kyuhyun removed her hand and stared into her eyes coldly. “Tell me... how to make him love me again,” she choked.

“I don't know how,” he declared unwaveringly, knowing full well Yesung never lost any bit of love for her even now. He brushed her hands off of his arm and stared straight into her eyes, “I can't do that.”

She looked up at him imploringly, “but he said you were-”

“If you knew him well enough, you should know never to believe a word he says.”

Geunyoung was left standing in the hall all alone. She was surrounded by many students, some throwing her weird stares and others that just ignored her, but she felt so alone. What could she do? What more could she do?

----

“What did you guys talk about?” The boys asked as Kyuhyun returned. He shrugged without giving them a reply. “It must have been about Yesung,” Kangin assumed, taking a drink out of the water bottle that never left his side.

“She wants him back, doesn't she?” Siwon asked. Kyuhyun locked eyes with Siwon, almost glaring at him. “I was right,” Siwon smiled.

Sungmin heaved out a long sigh, “it always ends up that way.”

“She's not a simple one,” Siwon suddenly spilled, “she has her way of getting what she wants.” The boys all looked at him in shock. “You guys forgot? We're cousins.” As if a switch clicked in their minds, the boys all nodded in awe.

“How I wish I came from a rich family,” Kangin sighed.

Siwon sneered, “it's not as luxurious as it seems.”

Feeling an embrace from behind, Sungmin turned and pecked Kibum on the cheek instantly. “Welcome,” he greeted as he threw his arms around Kibum's shoulder and pulled him in for a big hug, “I missed you!”

“What are you guys talking about?” Kibum asked, fixing his glasses with a slight blush.

“You look so cute with glasses on!” Sungmin continued to tease. Kibum smiled sweetly as Sungmin before sending him a hush.

“Talking about being from rich families,” Kyuhyun replied, ignoring Sungmin's hearty obsession with Kibum.

“Rich families?” Yesung asked, appearing from behind Kibum and making his way across the grass, “who?”

Siwon shook his head in a sulk, “who else?” Yesung caught the expression on Kyuhyun's face and made his way to his side.

“Something wrong?” He asked, removing some stray bangs from his eyes, “let me guess, Geunyoung paid you a visit?” Kyuhyun darted his eyes at Yesung. “I'm not psychic or anything, I ran into her just a few minutes ago and she told me she had a talk with you. I sort of expected it.”

Sungmin finally released his suffocating grasp on Kibum and turned to his brother as Kibum gasped for air, “that's right, I've been meaning to ask you. What's the deal with Kyuhyun being your man?” Yesung looked at the boys who all had their eyes focused on him, causing him to let out a low hiss.

“That's for me to know and you to find out,” he teased. Everyone glared at him, “alright, fine. I just needed a quick cover, that's all. If I told her my girlfriend, who was mad at me at that moment, wasn't with me and that I was spending time with a kid, eating breakfast, instead of trying to make up- or make out- with my girlfriend... she wouldn't believe it.”

“But it's okay for you to JUST be eating breakfast with your boyfriend?” Kangin asked with a lifted brow.

Yesung laughed, “we didn't JUST eat breakfast,” he slipped. Everyone's eyes widened in surprise. Yesung turned to Kyuhyun, “you didn't tell them?” Kyuhyun shook his head as his eyes shut tightly.

“Did you think I'd tell them something so embarrassing?” Kyuhyun asked in return.

Yesung lifted his arms to his hip, “Embarrassing? For you? It's more embarrassing on my part! And I hardly know you well enough to assume anything about you.” He argued angrily.

“Wait, what happened?” Sungmin asked. Kibum nudged him on the arm; he had a good guess of what happened that night. They were a little drunk after all.

Kyuhyun glared at Yesung, causing a shock to slowly run down his spine. “We'll just consider it compensation,” Yesung sighed, feeling the need to protect Kyuhyun's privacy.

“Compensation for what?” Kangin asked curiously, sliding onto the edge of his seat.

They received no answer. Kyuhyun hurriedly grabbed his belongings and made his way to his math class. Yesung rolled his eyes and bid his brother and friends farewell before slumping his bag over his shoulders and running after Kyuhyun. He felt as if he just couldn't leave him alone anymore.

By the way he waddled and had to adjust his position while making his way to Kyuhyun's side, very slightly, they could all tell what he meant by compensation.

“I told you!” Sungmin triumphantly grinned as he held his palm out in the open. Kangin stuffed a twenty dollar bill into his hand roughly, “when it comes to my brother Yesung, you just can't be so sure.”
