WOTW?

Guys, I'm not sure what to do about this.... 3 weeks ago we had two voters. I was busy that night and was going to post it the next day but forgot, which then turned into making it a double post the following week. That Monday came around and we only had two voters again. Yet again, I forgot. Last week no one voted. Same as this weekend. So... I ( Read more... )

Nothing happens until after this weekend. cWo Midwest Meetup at Wrigley, with me, An-day, and I think Stevewille and X-Pac Heat. Boo-ya. Also, I can barely actually post here when I try, which is why I'm breaking kayfabe here.

Wrigley Field should have been razed about 60 years ago

You can't find a more outdated and unimpressive place. It's old and has vegetative walls. Wow.

Chicago is a city that loves keeping history alive, like how they keep all their blacks segregated in the south side. It's just like stepping back in time.

That's another thing I could spend about 3,000 words on. Property worship! Historical places!

You think for one second that Hadrian had an ounce of concern when he was building gymnasiums and temples across the Roman Empire? "Sire, this would be the ideal real estate to build the new Temple of Zeus in Judea." "Thus says the Emperor: we mustn't build the temple there for that is the place of Ezra's rock garden, built 80 years ago! Think of the historical implications!"

No, Hadrian blew that shit up and built better things. He knew that time is relative and we must progress.

So start boycotting the decrepit confines of Wrigley and start hoping for something nice with modern convenience

Wrigley Field really does suck. The ONLY thing that's neat about it is the rooftop sections from across the street. It looks cool on TV, but really, you could just have a bigger and better stadium with more seats in the actual venue itself.

It's a dump. Seriously.

Yeah, as a baseball fan I have to see it, but I have a good idea what it'll be like. Tiny seats (which Fenway also had), and those goddamn urinal troughs Illinois seems to like so much. Blech.

He's done it again, folks!
