So, we got them down from 14 to a much more manageable seven. Yay us! Now let's discuss them, keeping in mind that we need to pick Team Designations as well, and we'll decide by Feb 14th. Does that work?

Anyway, I am really taken with how universal this is. Thinking, dreaming, etc. are components of many a story, as is the "opposite" (which isn't really opposite at all): feelings and emotions. That could make for some fun interplay, too. I also love how this theme can lend itself to both light and dark stories, to thinks like mental health and imagination as well as logic and intelligence.
My only concern is that artists (or at least a certain artist), could feel that it was too story-oriented and not very artists friendly. Granted, artists use their minds to create, but I am afraid that some people might feel that this is a hard theme to draw.
Any thoughts on team designations for this one?

I also agree with you about the artists and how it could be a bit alienating for them. But this could be an opportunity for artists to go 'outside the box'. I can see some artists from past years really taking to this theme, while I could see that one particular artist (if we are thinking of the same one) really struggle with this one. I just wouldn't want to rule the potential of this theme out over concern of whether a small handful (or even just one) of potential participants would feel excluded by this theme. It's still a really exciting theme!! And it's perfect to experiment creatively!!

It occurs to me that, if this is our transition year, do the team designations necessarily have to be related to R/S? Or even HP? Can they just be some element that makes a clear division of teams to create comraderie among teammates, i.e Team Red, Team Blue (not that I am suggesting this one specifically lol)? I am not sure if we are still having voting or not (did we decide that?) but if we are this could still work. If we aren't then it's even less important, I think.
For this theme, for example, we could have something like Team Thought Vs. Team Action or something less lame but not necessarily anything we've done before.
