As most of you know we lost our court case...despite proving his story was physically impossible and the fact that the defendant and his girlfriend were telling two different stories...
September continued to be a fantastic month for us, consider the following:
I contracted some sort of bacteria while in Houston that made me puke up everything..including water. This landed me in the minor emergency room with an IV in my hand.
Two days after I stopped throwing up, I got a cold. (which I promptly gave to Richard)
Richard's workplace despite being told during each of his three interviews with them that he would have to leave to go to Houston for the court case is holding it against him. THey are marking down his absence as unscheduled leave which makes him ineligible for any pay raises or promotions for an entire year.
My grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer after being hospitalized for pneumonia on my birthday. Despite the obvious cause (smoking for 40+ years), my mother and grandmother continue to smoke. I have been unable to go see my grandfather since he was diagnosed because I am afraid of what I will say. Apparently I am the only one in the family who is facing the fact that he is dieing and that tobacco caused it. Everyone else refuses to look at or listen to his chances of survival (which are minimal). I guess most people think I am cold and uncaring, but I think smoking is a form of suicide and I cant really feel sorry for those who slowly kill themselves. I just dont understand how someone can truly try to blame another cause for lung cancer when they smoke. By the way my grandmother has a respiratory disease (which of course was not caused or aggravated by her chain smoking)
October is shaping up to be an interesting month... We finally got ahold of the correct person at SIR MRI and even though we contacted them and are trying to work out a payment plan they are automatically turning it over to a collections agency. I only stay awake at night worrying about keeping my credit score in great shape. My career depends alot on my credit score. I dont understand how a company can make it their policy to screw people who are truly trying to take care of their bills.
Despite all of my ranting some good things have happened to us also.
My company let me use my vacation time for the time I was gone even though I was still in my 90 day probation period.
Richard got a new job at Decision One.
OU let me switch classes with no fees or penalties when I was horribly sick.
I am off probation at work. The most negative thing anyone had to say was they are afraid they arent going to be able to keep me challenged enough.
My bosses gave me $250 for my birthday and my parents got me new tires for my car.
We got pretty new red living room furniture!!!
It seems like our entire married life has been major ups and downs....I would like to have some quiet living now.
