A Collection of Hockey Plot Bunnies
Plot bunnies! I am never going to write any of these things, but if you write one, you should tell me about it so I can go read it.
Note: Some of these involve real-life non-celebrity partners, and I was too lazy to separate those out into their own section, so just consider yourself forewarned.
Briouxs and Briere and/or Giroux related (plus bonus Sidney Crosby)
I was talking to someone about outsider pov boring lesbian mom Danny Briere: I vote for Brayden Schenn! He keeps trying to ask Sean and Claude leading questions that get him nowhere and annoy them, so finally Claude just takes him over to the Brieres for dinner one night. Dani's in track pants and a long-sleeve t-shirt, which is exactly the kind of thing he sees her wearing at the rink all the time. One of the kids is like, "Moooommmm," and trying to get in on the video game action, and she just says, "You have two math problems left. Finish those, and then you can play." And she asks everyone, "Do you want Chinese or pizza?" One of the kids wants grilled cheese, and she says, "We don't have enough bread. I haven't gone grocery shopping in a couple of days." And then they order pizza and she shoos Claude and Brayden out at like eight-thirty because the kids have to go to bed, and Brayden is very disappointed by how boring it all is.

The threesome in Germany story I would write if Ryanne were a couple of years older:
Danny spends a lot of time at Claude and Ryanne's place. It's just down the hall from his, so it's not like the place is anything special. It's that he doesn't know any of the other guys that well and he's not used to being alone this much. He tries not to be there all the time, and they don't seem to mind it when he is.
He turns the corner from the kitchen to the dining room. Ryanne is straddling Claude in the chair closest to him and they're kissing.
"I'm going," Danny says. "I'll see you at practice."
"Wait." Ryanne grabs his shirt and leans back from Claude a little. "You don't have to go." She looks at Claude the whole time she says it.
Danny freezes for a moment, and then starts to take a step away. Claude grabs at his shirt to stop him, on the side Ryanne's not holding onto.
Claude breaks Ryanne's gaze to meet Danny's eyes. "Stay."

During the lockout, I was plot bunnying with someone about Sid going to play hockey in Berlin while Claude was back in North America with his injury (note: the end of the lockout means this plot bunny now does not conform to reality at all):
So maybe Sid goes there, and Danny is much nicer than anyone else, so of course he tries to make Sid feel welcome, and Sid is very much into Being A Team, so he also works at getting along, and by the time Claude comes back, Sid and Danny are sort of friends and hanging out a lot, and Claude is very confused and not sure how to deal with this. (And possibly jealous.)
Claude would be SO UPSET, and Danny would just shrug and be like, "This is what happens when you leave me alone," and then tell him Sid's not that bad and he should learn to like him.
This would happen somewhat like this:
Sid is horrified to find out that Danny doesn't cook because "Everyone should know how to cook at least a few things," and insists on teaching him a couple of simple recipes. He's over the day Claude gets back, but they both thought Claude would go straight home after whatever press and team stuff he has to do when he arrives, so they're surprised when Danny's doorbell rings and he goes to let Claude in.
Claude is also surprised: "Is that food? You don't cook."
Danny takes him into the kitchen where Sid says, "I'm teaching him how to cook. Everyone should know how to cook at least a few things."
Danny says, "Claude, you know Sid. Sid, Claude," and they shake hands under his watchful eye, and when they look like they're not going to play well with others, Danny uses his dad voice to remind them that they are all a team now and it'll be good practice for the Olympics.
(I would totally read a pairing/threesome version of this, but I would also totally read a gen version where they just have to get along.)
Danny makes them hang out, and refuses to let either of them say anything bad about the other. (Claude tries with, "It's Crosby. You know what he did to my wrists," and Danny frowns at him in disappointment and says, "He's our teammate now.")
And then maybe there's a break in their schedule, and Danny goes home to see his kids. Danny says something about how Claude's traveled about and he might have ideas for what Sid might want to do during the break, and Sid says, "I'm going to Moscow. To see Metallurg play Dynamo." And then, somewhat reluctantly, he asks, "Do you want to come?"
So Sid and Claude go to Russia, and Sid is super excited to see Geno and slightly less excited to see Alex. But both Sid and Claude love watching the game, and Alex shows them all around Moscow. Alex is the one to make a lot of pointed comments about Sid and Claude spending time together, and Sid tries to mostly just talk to Geno, but it doesn't quite work out that way, and despite themselves, Sid and Claude come back to Germany friends.

There should be a story where the Flyers buy out Danny's contract over the summer and then he signs with the Penguins partly because he's pissed off at the Flyers and partly because it's an easy flight for him and the kids to see each other. Claude is mad at him about it to begin with, and even more so when Danny becomes friendly with Sid, and then even more so when he goes to Sochi and Sid tells him both (a) that Danny is a good guy and a good player and (b) that Danny says great things about Claude.

Danny knows better than to be doing this. He knows better than to do anything with a man anywhere someone might recognize him. He knows better than to do anything with their rivals' captain. He knows better than to do anything with someone as famous as Crosby. He does it anyway. He's spent his whole life on hockey, and if hockey had a human form, it would be Sidney Crosby.

Someone needs to write fic about the no roommates situation being unbearably lonely for Danny. (Maybe: 5 people Danny hung out with instead of staying in his room alone.)

There should be fic where the Danny trade rumors make Claude panic and/or be very determined that they're going to win the Cup this year.

But why isn't there more fic about Danny partying with Carts in the summer of 2010? It could be done without splitting up OTPs if that's a concern for you.

There should be a story where the solution to their problems is Claude domming Danny.

There should be a story where the Flyers fix their problems by going back to shared rooms on the road.

Soulbonds exist, but are very rare, so when Danny falls in regular love with Sylvie, he thinks that's it. Then he meets Claude.
Tylers and/or Tyler related
There should be a story where the Tylers got married in a fit of exuberance after the Bruins won the Cup.

There should totally be a story where Segs, Kaner, and Kaner's mom watch chick flicks.

I would read a story where Segs and Kaner became friends in Switzerland and they stay friends and then eventually they hook up. It would have to be the kind of thing where they text a lot, and then sometimes they talk on the phone, and then they Skype sometimes. It's always a little flirty, because that's just how they are, but somewhere along the line, the flirting gets more serious.

Is there a story where TSegs named his dog Marshall because it's sort of after Marchy? Because there should be.

I would read fic where TSegs is trying to big brother Dougie and Dougie is having none of it because he's got his shit together.

There should be a story where Fred ends up with a baby. Segs is half "you dumbass, always keep it wrapped up" and half "baby!" Obviously Fred can't handle the baby alone in his studio, so Segs tells him he can move in with him and also that if Nick is mad and won't pay for things, he will totally pay for a babysitter/nanny. (If they arrange Fred's class schedule right, Segs can often have the baby while Fred's in class, but there are going to be times when they're both gone.) So then Fred and Segs and the baby are all living together, and this requires a lot of advice from the Ferences and the Lucics. Marchy comes over sometimes, and he's okay with the baby, but Dougie also comes over sometimes and he's completely comfortable with the baby. (Although the baby looks even tinier in Dougie's arms.) And then obviously Segs and Fred end up having sex (because Fred can really never go out and hook up now - even if he leaves the baby with Segs or the sitter, he's usually too tired) and being in love.

I kind of want a story where Segs is all upset about Julie so he moves in with Fred as a sort of "Fine. I'll find someone else too" kind of thing, but then he ends up sincerely in love with Fred.

Kind of want a Tylers stepbrothers story where the parents who get married met while the Tylers were playing together. (But mostly I would want it to be about the two of them being big brothers to their collective siblings.)

I was thinking there should be a story where Sid goes to Ovechkin's wedding: Sid never expected to be invited to Alex Ovechkin's wedding, but now that the invitation is in his hand, he can't decline it. But then I thought it should be about Geno being delighted and then it could be Sid/Geno/Oksana sometimes threesome, sometimes V.

There should be a story where Mike and Jeff figure out that they play better when they're together, so Mike starts spending more time at Jeff and Megan's and staying over most of the time. It's to the point that when Lindsey comes to visit, he just automatically drives to Jeff and Megan's, and then he has to explain that he's mostly been staying there and it's good for their game. It's not exactly a foursome, because the four of them never have sex, but they listen to each other fuck, and none of them try to be quiet. When Lindsey's not there, Mike always jerks off while listening to Jeff and Megan have sex.

He knows who everyone is, and vaguely knows that he's not supposed to be three, but mostly he's just a three-year-old, and all he wants is to be wherever Ebs is and do whatever Ebs is doing.
