I'm so glad to hear that re: the car sex. I had been in conversation about how far or explicit to take it bc to me in this reading of them, the fragility of (re)connecting is so present and central, and depicting graphic sex or orgasm seemed to pull away from that. The idea that the stakes are lower in the car bc the focus isn't necessarily on making Remus come. That just the physicality at all would be a wide enough gap to bridge. I think about Sirius’s vulnerability and courage in that moment and all the sensation physical and emotional Remus would be handling, and how really him driving would not like, mitigate the intensity but would contain it enough to allow for it. Car time being a site of possibility for the liminal.

Re: just your problem, YES x100. Was listening to “The River” by Mirah at some point for rhythm while editing - “And you don't want to hurt me / but you don't want to need me / so how can you receive me?” like, same angst, different side. LA and Adventure Time are connected for me, so early on in this universe-building I imagined them watching it deeply while Sirius wades around in his post-trauma.
