Wow! Okay, so I'm a bit sick right now and everything's fuzzy and surreal, but this fic was just so *lush* with the emotions of being in love the first time. Gorgeous and a bit overwhelming and even frightening just under the surface, in the way new territory can be frightening. And I adored the way the language is always just on the verge of running away, too:

He wants more than anything else to live this forever, to know each version of themselves they’ve ever been or will ever be, these strange wanderers they can’t know yet, to come back to each other and fall in love and give themselves over, and over, and over, to find each other at the kitchen table and a hundred different doorways and be blinded by the shock of the love they’ve found.

Lovely, lovely! M.

Oh my god.

No really, oh my god this is absolutely amazing and completely everything I wanted!!!

This was so, so beautiful, your detail is amazing and Remus was so in love and exactly how I picture him; Sirius as well, beautiful and brilliant, oh my. I felt like I was there with them, and I loved how you portrayed the relationship between them, as well as including the rest of the gang (and Lily!)

Oh man, this was perfect, *perfect* I tell you. I was going to quote some, and then I realized that the whole thing is my favourite.

Thank you so much!!! ❤️

Once again you have managed to completely astound me with your ability to create such lush intimate worlds out of such small excerpts of their lives. Your use of language is incomparable.

Remus was so in love and so sweet about it in a perfectly eighteen year old boy sort of way. And Sirius was so brash about it, hiding his sincerity behind overtly playful flirting. I don't really have the words to do this justice, it was absolutely incredible.

Oh, this was astounding good and totally worth the self-imposed wait I forced upon myself! It has the sensibility of a good novel or modern short story in which, outwardly, not a lot of action takes place, but the psychology and emotions of it, make it feel as if it were a thriller. That probably sounded weird, but I only meant to say that you created something really spectacular out of the idea of creating and exchanging presents (and getting together, of course) and that every word made me want to read more ( ... )
