This was darling, not to mention a very cool little adventure. And what an awesome present, too! I like to think of Sirius as a good giver of presents. He was in canon, afterall! Yet now I cannot help but wonder what he gave James and Peter. I imagine it to still be something personal, but without the kissing. LOL.

I also love the idea of wild hippogriffs, especially their beauty and this little bit of foreshadowing:The hippogriffs seemed satisfied as long as the pair of boys continued to keep their distance, which they did, despite Sirius’s jokes about saddling one up and riding it off into the sunset. Remus ended up with an entire scroll of notes. That made me smile.

The idea of Remus worrying about this clothes not matching (and the request for the blue jumper) was darling, too. It was just one of those great little bits that added a darling depth to the story.

And I love the way you write magic and are comfortable with the magical world. Bits like this: “And it didn’t even burn a hole in your tongue!” (Sirius said this with ( ... )

...very Rowlingesque in their way. She uses magic in ways that could be painful yet somehow come across as fun. There's something very childlike and joyful about it and you've managed to capture that, too!

Yes, agreed!

What a wondrously thoughtful gift! ♥ And Remus being so worried about his appearance was adorable.

This is terrific! I definitely didn't foresee school-age gift-giving when I wrote the prompt: I love Sirius's conclusion that the best gift of all is himself. Ha!

You can't have known that I grew up in the Rockies, so the mountainous setting is all too perfect! I love the romance of the sunset kiss, and Sirius's experimentation with chocolate and portkeys, and the hints at Sirius's later Buckbeak adventures.

This was a delightful, slightly science-y story: thank you so much!
