I loved the heaviness of this fic, the way the pain of the war filled all their actions. I felt bad for Sirius being rejected by Remus, but I'm glad that Remus went to help him in the end. Well done!

Kind of sad but I like the image of Remus, Sirius and James fighting together in the end. Well done!

Wow, that was really... heavy. Not in a bad way, mind you, just a lot of really heavy stuff for all of those poor boys to deal with. That said, you wrote it well. It was subtle and scary and filled with some very real emotions.

You also created great empathy for everyone. I felt horrid for both of them; Sirius' pain and Remus' confusion were very real and well-rendered.

I was also glad for the glimmer of hope at the end.

Nicely done!

He volunteered for the dangerous missions that involved spying, interacting, even befriending the most likely followers of Voldemort. These were the sort of jobs that bordered on, if not outright appeared to be, treasonous and unforgiveable behavior in the eyes of his friends. But these were the sort of jobs that the senior ranking Order members had wanted Sirius to do (because he’s a Black and he would fit right in with that lot). Remus has endured a lot in his life and being called a monster, or being labeled as a coward, behind his back isn’t going to cause him any emotional distress now when it hadn’t before.

This paragraph made me love you and this fic so much. Remus protecting Sirius without a word or hint to anyone that this is what he is doing. How much do I love him for this? And Remus not doing what Dumbledore would have wanted. And this:

Remus didn’t care if the whole world thought that he was a monster or a traitor or a coward; he almost didn’t care that because everyone else thought this, sometimes Sirius did too; but ( ... )
