this was really adorable and i liked how harry kind of told the story. that added a great dimension to it and really acted like a lens for the r/s story behind it. you didn't even need to say it explicitly, but that simple conversation and harry's take on it told an epic tale behind the scenes.

I adore looking at parents through the eyes of their kids. It's an interesting lens and it was great fun to write. Thank you!

This was absolutely adorable. This fest is making me love Harry-raised-by-puppies more and more. (What's the proper term for that, I wonder?) The conversation was full of intimate markers - secret jokes, references to old deeds, the ability to read without the emotions being clearly there - and I loved it. I felt like Harry, sneaking in on a treasure of a conversation, but without the embarrassment of knowing they were talking about me. ;)

Awesome job!

The proper term for that is "should have been canon."

I totally agree with inverts that it should be called canon, but alas. I think it's usually called 'raising Harry', and it's my favorite genre of puppy fic. ^_^

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the lovely comment!

I liked this so much. Short, sweet, and perfect.

The concept of Remus having lots of sex to try to feel good about himself (presuming I read that right) is one I don't see often but it really makes a lot of sense. I do see it more applied to Sirius, but in either case, I think you handled it really well here, all the emotions happening just below the surface with Remus, and Sirius reassuring him. It's sweet and lovely and they've gone through so much together.

Also the institutional homophobia in the beginning of the fic is, well, very sad, possibly moreso because of its relative realism. Nicely done on that as well.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment!

You did read that right! In my head canon, Sirius's method of coping was drugs and Remus's was sex. I think of him as getting very caught up in the idea that, because he's a werewolf, no one could possibly want him -- so his response is to try to prove that he can make people want him. Unfortunately, young!Remus has a bit of confusion about the difference between a meaningful connection and a fellow randy teenager who's up for a shag. Or maybe thinks he's only allowed to have one and not the other.

And if the UK didn't allow gays in the military in the '90s, I figured the Wizarding world would be moving even slower. Unfortunately.

How darling, mystery author. It was more than that, too, though. You told a quiet, subtle story with very few words and a lot of implications. That was wonderful. This fic is deceptive. It seems so simple: Harry has a girlfriend and Remus is upset, but there are a thousand more complex lurking within. Sirius' addictions, Remus sexuality, fear, homophobia, and more. That was very clever.

adorable! loved sirius being all parenty, and the thing about gay predjudice, and how bad remus and sirius were, and harry listening. ahhh a perfect fic!
