Sirius glanced over at Remus who was sprawled out on the grass enjoying the warm, autumn sunshine. Despite the fact that his boyfriend looked entirely peaceful, Sirius could not contain his excitement.
“So,” he began, “whom do you think is going to win this year’s
rs_games?”
Remus gazed at him for a moment through narrowed eyes. “You don’t find it a little creepy? That these people write stories about us? And that some of them… you know… describe us… erm… making love.” He ran his fingers through his sandy hair, a bright pink blush coloring his normally pale cheeks.
Sirius threw back his head and laughed. “Actually, Moony, I find it quite entertaining - not to mention sexy. I can’t blame them, really. We are quite good-looking, you know.”
Remus just rolled his eyes.
“So,” asked Sirius, “Who should win the gold?”
“Well, Mendeleevianly speaking, it should be Team AU.”
“What the hell is a Mendeleevian and is it even a word?”
Remus gave a small sigh of exasperation. “Dmitri Mendeleev invented the Muggle Periodic Table of Elements and AU is the symbol for gold.”
Sirius just looked blank.
“I once took a Muggle chemistry class,” Remus finished lamely.
“Well,” laughed Sirius, “If you’re going by Muggle logic, then Team Canon should win because they have more firepower.”
A small line creased Remus' brow. “That’s c-a-n-o-n not c-a-n-n-o-n. One refers to an authoritative body of work and the other to a tubular piece of artillery that uses gunpowder…”
“I know that, Moony,” huffed Sirius, leaning in to kiss his lover on the cheek. “It’s a homophone, a play on words, you know?”
“Speaking of homo…” Remus began, but Sirius shushed him with a kiss. Pulling his lover close, Remus kissed back, long fingers carding through Sirius’ dark hair. Sirius moaned softly and slid his hand beneath Remus' shirt, caressing scarred skin.
“Ahem!”
Both men turned to see four smiling women clutching lap top computers and standing under a nearby tree.
“Hi!” chorused the girls. “We’re the Mods of
rs_games, and we’re here to answer your question."
“Erm…” said Remus, “we’re a little busy at the moment…”
But despite his protests, Sirius interrupted him. “So?” he cried. “Who won?”
“Well,” began one of the women, “the winner, by an extraordinarily narrow margin was…”
Team AU!!!!
Each score was averaged (so it did not matter if more people voted on some works than on others), and the averages were added together. Team AU had a total of 658.609 points with an average score of 16.8874 (out of twenty possible points.) Meanwhile Team Canon had a total of 654.788 points and for an average score of 16.7894. When we said close, we meant close! We checked our work over and over and over again, but, yes, indeed, the gap was really that small.
Honestly, though, you are ALL winners in our eyes and we strongly suspect that Remus and Sirius would agree.
(“We do!” they cried together.)
So as to prevent any possible hurt feelings, we are not going to give out individual scores, but we do have banners for each and every one of you who successfully created and turned in your works. Please scroll down to retrieve your banner.
In addition, each team nominated participants (and, in one case, non-participants) for special awards - and they get banners, too! Although some people received multiple nominations we decided to award each person only one award. The exception to this is the Indigo Award which was nominated by the opposing team. Those nominated for Indigo could also receive an award from their own team. And the winners are:
The Pink Award: For true love of ship. This is for the non-Games participant gives good comment, and truly loves R/S.

Your Award Again, thanks to all of you. Each and every one of you helped to make
rs_games a success. The true point of The Games was to have fun, encourage artistic endeavors, and to spread the love of our favorite ship. We are proud to say that, in our opinion, that is exactly what happened. People had lots of fun and some truly wonderful works were created and posted. Everyone contributed, but we would especially like to thank those of you who created a Pinch Hit and those who took the time to create icons, banners, and positive comments. Yes, some deserving people may have been accidentally missed with the Special Awards, but, remember, we love you, too!
You are now free to respond to comments and to post your works wherever you chose.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you all love each other and your world is filled with bright, happy rainbows and fluffy little puppies,” muttered Sirius. He straightened his spine and attempted to intimidate the Mods with a penetrating, grey gaze.
Unsurprisingly, they just ignored him. “And your point?” asked one of the ladies.
“Well,” Sirius cried. “Who wrote what?”
“Oh, that,” laughed a Mod.
The complete list of works from
rs_games, with author/artist names added to the previously posted works, can be found

Members of Team Au can retrieve their awards at the gallery

here.
We hope everyone enjoyed the Games as much as we did!
