I liked this a lot -- it's a different take on Sirius running away from home than I've ever seen before. I really like how you alluded to their physical intimacy over the summer and showed how betrayed Remus felt that Sirius could treat him this way after the trust they'd established.

And the shower scene was hot. Good lord. ;-)

Poor Remus did feel betrayed (I'm rarely nice to Sirius' love interest but I always give them a Sirius in the end so hopefully that makes up for it).

And thank you, I'm glad the shower scene pleased. Very fun to write. My beta teased me because my other two pieces for the games were basically smut free which for me is just weird.

that was really wonderful. i think that you did a fine job showing sirius's struggles with family, etc. james was awesome, too, and his defensiveness of remus was really quite touching. but the shower scene? damn. that was freaking hot!

I love this! I was wondering what the issue was with Sirius and read eagerly to find out what could make him be such a twat so guarded and guilty around Remus.

And ohh, it would take a sharp butcher knife to cut the sexual tension between the two of them. You satisfied it so deliciously too.

And I love the way they all communicate without speaking, especially Sirius in the end. He simply couldn't leave Remus.

I love this. Your writing is so lush, and the first half had me entranced, and I just love this dreamy, invasive quality of your prose - it is like you see every bit of them, but you aren't sharing it all with your readers, and I really, really loved that.

The UST is done so prettily, and oh Sirius, my poor love. His nobility (not blood, but personality) shines through, and this little angst-tantrum is so well-justified, and does not feel silly or over-orchestrated at all. I love James too, of course, and Remus, oh. ♥ Your characterization is spot on, and the resolution is lovely, although I want to cry just thinking about what lies ahead. ( I am sorry, I sponge about this bit of canon all the damn time, especially when I read fics as tender and as good as yours.)

And the shower scene - Ditto what everyone else here has said. Oh, language kink, I love you. And telling someone you want them to fuck you in French? Total win.

This review made me so happy!! I did keep the POV very strictly on Remus so that the reader could feel his frustrations. He does sort of feel like he has been dropped into some other reality where everything has been turned on its ear and nothing makes sense at all.

I was wary of making Remus explode in his angst tantrum, I tried to build it up so that when he snapped, it felt justified and basically forced the truth out of Sirius. He is being noble, and also a little cowardly and a bit of an ass, but his reasons are good. It is his execution that lacks finesse. But he's 15/16 here, and despite all the hype of Sirius Black, 15/16 is as 15/16 does.

I'm so pleased the shower scene works so well. And yes, language kink? I've one of those too!!

This was quite lyric and beautiful. You created such fantastic tension, both sexual and emotional. Even with all his faults and failings, Sirius was a very compelling and oddly likable character and Remus was a darling dream.
