Welcome to the 2009 RS_Games!
The first fabulous fics and art will appear later today, but we wanted to welcome all of our friends, readers, and participants! The Games are about having fun, spreading the love of our favorite ship, friendly competition, and going for Puppyshippers’ gold.
The theme of this years Games is Over the Rainbow:
In 1978 the Marauders were enjoying their first year of freedom from Hogwarts. James and Lily got married and our boys were busy with the work of the Order of the Phoenix.
Meanwhile, in the Muggle world, a San Francisco artist named Gilbert Baker designed an eight-stripe, rainbow hued flag to fly over the Gay Freedom Day Parade. The flag represents unity through diversity and was inspired by the song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The original version had eight stripes from top to bottom: pink (sexuality/love), red (life/strength), orange (healing/understanding), yellow (sunlight/happiness), green (nature/peace), turquoise (magic/art), indigo/blue (serenity/understanding), and violet (spirit/spirituality). Our theme and our prompts are based on the symbol and meaning of this flag.
This does not mean that you have to define the sexuality of Remus and Sirius in any particular way. The Rainbow Pride Flag is about diversity and is a celebration of all aspects of humanity. So come with us Over the Rainbow and go for the gold!

Each day a pair of fics (one from Team AU and one from Team Canon) will appear on this site. Sometimes works of art will appear, too. Please read, view, enjoy, and take the time to vote. Remember, whilst this is Team Canon v. Team AU, it is not fic v. fic or artwork v. artwork. Please evaluate and vote for each work on its own merits, not as a comparison. Positive comments are heartily encouraged and the rules for voting and other posting are HERE, please take a moment to check them out.
Voting will continue until seven days after the final post (which we predict will be sometime in the first week of November.) At that point, the votes will be counted and the winning team will be announced shortly after.
