Wait, wait, who gave you permission to make me cry today? I was not prepared for this. I mean, I should have seen it coming, given how well it followed canon despite the change in venue. But I very much did not see that ending coming. You've completely done me in.

This entire thing was lovely. Very evocative setting, and incredible job fitting canon characters into this era and still keeping them them. That's such a difficult task to manage, and you've done a wonderful job of it.

Incredible work!

that was amazing. it don't think i have ever read a roman empire period au or even an au that was, in many ways, so much like canon. i am impressed with how you used class and ethnicity to delineate differences. you must have researched this really well and yet it felt utterly natural and not at all contrived. it was sheer brilliance, mystery author, sheer brilliance.

but, ohm you caught me by surprise with that ending. it broke my heart and yet felt so honorable and correct. i've read so many stories that are super angsty with happy endings and this was just the opposite. how refreshing! but also how very fitting for the characters and the setting. again, brilliant.

Why?! Why would you do this to me? I could feel the upcoming angst, sort of but was hoping until the end that maybe there would be a happy ending this time! Aaahhhh! But you do write so well, and I love seeing my puppies tortured sometimes(I know I'm horrible!). Seriously, the mix of canon ideas with your original ones and the overall magical atmposhere was just enchanting, this story is definitely one I will remember from this year's games!

I can say that I'm just so in love with Sirius and Remus as characters and their love here, especially that little hug Sirius gave towards the end! Ah, my heart!

This work is beautiful, exquisite and all sorts of adjectives I just don't know( only the good ones, I promise!).

Oh, I really enjoyed this - a lot! You've done such a wonderful job creating this very believable scenario, yet keeping a lot of canon events; the way you did that really worked for me. The entire story was so vivid and felt very full of life and real emotions. The mystery with the prophecy and the way it followed both Sirius' life and the story in itself worked a treat, making the ending very powerful. I also love your detail with the names, how the Romans' names fit in! Really great work!

What a great meld of the historical and the magical. Sirius striving at the start to be more than he thinks he is and achieving it with Remus' help when he feels like he's failing couldn't be more fitting for their partnership. Seeing Peter's treachery was just as upsetting in this setting as in canon, but I'm holding on to the light at the end of Remus and Harry at least knowing there was no betrayal from Sirius in this universe.
