Thank you so much for your lovely words! The thunderstorm was inspired a little bit by one we had near me while I was working through this.

this line was really great, 'everything is so open. the next seven years stretch out before him, full of wonder, empty of impositions.' gah! i have no words.
i loved the very first part more than i can even say. you perfectly captured the feeling of being a small child. the bit in which regulus roars and his father chastized him and the bit in which sirius wonders about hunters, lions, and dogs, just made me want to scoop up both boys and hug them. poor things.
and the ending was heart breaking but perfect. i was half-hoping that you would continue on and tell us about escaping and reuniting with remus and death, but it really was a perfect way to end it.
so lovely!

I'm glad the repetition worked for you! Now I have that picture book stuck in my head, wow. Maybe when I learn to art I'll work on that...
As for the ending, that was the first scene that came to mind, and I knew it had to end there. I didn't even think of gong further, but now that you mention it I know I couldn't have done that justice.
Thank you so much for all your kind words!

Lovely. I adored all the conversations about the stars and how the stars defined Sirius' life.
The scene in the storm was hard but in a good way - it's been so long that I read fic about the Incident that I almost forgot it happened. And I love reading about it! It's the best angst. And your writing captured the emotions so well.
I also liked where you ended a story.

[sighhhhh] the Incident can't keep itself out of my writing, and every time I have to go look up what year it was in >.< I'm so glad you thought the emotions worked.
As I mentioned above, the ending was the first scene that came to mind, and I could not have gone any further. I'm glad you liked that!
Thanks for your lovely words :)

Plus,Regulus is just so so soooo sweet there,I felt sad when you wrote about how Sirius worries about contacting him before leaving.
