This is fabulous! It's a story I could easily see in a collection of modern short stories. Every word is beautiful, every word is important and there's not a syllable more than needs to be there. So much meaning and emotion packed in few words. Loved it!
The opening lines caught my interest, they are a bit different, and i wanted to find out how this would continue. By the time i got to the end i was fascinated. Then i read it again and i love it. loooovely work!!!
This is really beautiful and sweet--I especially thought the autumnal imagery and chill sensations were done well and I loved the line about the earthworm.
This was a delight! There's such a clandestine, quiet air of discovery to it, right down to the earthworm crawling across the root and Sirius' arm against Remus' at the end. I love how both of them are just starting to puzzle each other out, and how Sirius promises they'll work something out once winter comes; your autumn imagery is so fantastic you can almost feel the loamy chill coming off it, and it works really well with the subtle shift of their relationship. All sorts of lovely!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I'm so happy you enjoyed this :) The details you mention as well as how the seasons change along with their relationship, are all aspects I wanted to show, so I'm delighted that stood out to you!
You conveyed very well Remus' uncertainty about the relationship and his hope too as well as how in all relationships we are really learning all the time about the other person. It felt quiet and meaningful. Wonderful story.
