I was glad for the break today so I could finally sit down and give this the attention it deserves! Even though I'm not really into selkie stories (honestly I didn't know what they were until this fest), I really enjoyed yours. You create a complex, immersive AU that has nice parallels to the HP universe but also creates its own mythology. But the way you write the relationships is what I like best-I love the relationship between Sirius and Regulus especially. And I love the way you wrote Dumbledore and made him such an important force in Sirius's life, especially at the end, which was beautiful and perfect. But my favorite section of all was this moment between Remus & Sirius:
And then they moved as one, discarding clothing and sinking into one another with the desperation that comes from witnessing death and life and hard truths wrapped in bitter lies. For all though it was borne of sorrow and fear, it was still sweet and good, and they lay together afterward and knew that no matter what else happened to them, this had been right.
Really beautiful.
