"oh, you poor thing!"
i just had the most ridiculous lunch ever. i walked into mcdonald's and there were 3 registers open and 4 customers in there. the guy waiting to order was kinda hopping around and complaining about the wait and how he was in a big rush. ::eye roll:: when the guy in front of me stepped aside after paying, mr. important SHOVED me aside and tried to cut. my incredulous "excuse me?!" was answered with "excuse yourself!" and a whiny complaint that he'd been waiting forever and he was in a rush. i gave him my most withering look and said "oh, you poor thing! but who died and made you the most important peron in the world?" at that, he began hopping up and down and screaming obscenities at me, calling me a "fucking cunt" among other such tasteful phrases. the longer and louder he shouted the bigger my grin grew - i was sure he was going to asphyxiate since he didn't seem to be taking any breathe at all. this only seemed to enrage him more, and i started to think he might get physically violent - not an unreasonable fear, i think, since he'd already shoved me pretty hard. i turned around and quickly placed my order (i wasn't about to let him scare me off). when he finally figured out i wasn't going to react to his increasingly violent and offensive diatribe, he turned around and shouted at the guy who he'd been waiting behind when i walked in. "what the hell are you doing?! negotiating world peace?! why the hell is it taking so long?!..." and on and on and on. finally, the manager walked out, and the poor guy had to endure several minutes of abusive language on his lack of management skills and threats that he'd get fired, etc. eventually, mr. important was forced to leave.
