Definitely my favorite thing about this fic is what you mentioned -- how much Castiel and Sam don't seem to care about each other because they're both soulless, but the other matters to them in the ways that count and little things give that away. Like the way Castiel constantly has a feel on Sam's pulse and because Sam wants to make her come and the way she's always in his thoughts as something different and unique -- special. Like if you gave them the chance, they'd spend all of the time they have not-eating and not-sleeping by screwing each other senseless, just seeking physical pleasure together because they are each other's best.
