6 .psd's
  • American History X

library_of_sex asked me if I could write up a tutorial for the colouring I used on my American History X mood theme, but she said a .psd would suffice. So here you all go! It's not the exact same colouring used on the caps in the theme since I didn't save any of them as .psd's, but I tried the best I could to duplicate it. (: I made .psd's for the images I used in the examples, so there are six of them.

A lot of the same colouring was used on the coloured caps, and the same with the black and white caps. It mainly depended on how dark each image was to begin with. There is a top layer in each .psd that looks like I just copy merged all of the layers together. I did! But I used an 'unsharp mask' (Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask) set to:

    Amount: 20%
    Radius: 1.0 pixels
    Threshold: 0 levels
