i feel the need to open up about something.
something that's been bugging my head for a while now.
and you guys, my f-list, are the perfect people to pour this all on.
the thing is,
during some time of this year
KISS re-recorded some of their old songs with their current line-up.
and today, i finally got off my lazy and forgetting ass and downloaded the album that was mostly targeted for japan's market.
i had my doubts, i had my fears, i had my walls up, i had prepared for the worst.
i thought to myself "they possibly could have not done better that the original songs, so why do they even try. what's the point to all this? knowing that band, it's only a new way to make money, because KISS-fans pay. fuck guys, give it a rest already before i lose all the respect i even have left for you. just... don't rape the old classics. just leave them be."
so i listened the album.
and.
HOLY SHIT THE SONGS ARE ACTUALLY FUCKING AMAZING.
obviously they don't measure up to the original songs, but fuck, they're definitely nothing to be ashamed of.
tommy and eric spice things up and paul and gene are groving it like the old times and they don't even sound very much different from the old versions.
i am pleased.
