Okay, so this is shameless promotion, I guess.
NWN 2comes out the begining of November. Anyone who will be playing NWN2, I encourage them to take a look at this server:
http://frontier.19.forumer.com/ Its a player based and player expanded world. I will be playing on this server.
I'll also be owning my own inn, woot! It's called the White Raven Inn.
I also have my own guild. Here is information on it:
Name of Group: Blue Fire Society
Type: Merchant Guild
Purpose of group: Joining together with other merchants & settlers to help maintain control over trade and goods within the town
Colors: Blue and Black
Leader(s): Pagan and one other (need volunteers! Preferably someone who is LE!)
Dogma/Creed: Strength in Unity
Come help keep merchants rich and get richer! Mafia-esque Guild seeks corrupt and moderately corrupt members to help keep group controlling trade, inflation rates, and control the prices of goods!
Help us help you! We help those seeking to start their own buisness in Founder's Falls! Come to us for monetary help as well as other services!
Ban with others seeking to improve their investments in town goods and services. We also will help some merchants just starting out with their original investments or services in return for loyalty and a small cut of profits!
You don't necessarily have to own a business or store to join! BUT you do have to be willing to work at maintaining elitism and control over goods within the town.
I am hoping it will turn into a kind of mafia where in order to start a business you have to not only go through the local government, but also go through us (we like to harass businesses that don’t have our stamp of approval). I’d like to set up a simple system of once someone is interested in opening a business, the guild offers some start up funds in return for a certain percentage of profits from then on. Later on, as their business grows, the percentage will go up and they will eventually have the option of joining the guild. If payment isn’t received….lets just say we’ll have some tanks go show them who is boss (and any guild members would refuse to shop there, therefore hurting their business).
I'd also like the guild to host illegal gambling rings as well and, eventually, a brothel.
Basically I'm thinking high-class criminals. Pay-Offs from local businesses will be our biggest income followed by gambling then prostitution (once we get a brothel going).
I already have the head of merchants/tax collecting as a Partner (see guild structure for description) - he has already PMed me with ideas of paying him off in return for lower taxes and a blind eye to some guild activities. Hopefully we will also be able to pay off more officials as well as some guard members and/or have some of our own members as part of the guard.
Tenative structure breakdown:
1. Boss - Guild head/leader. Member of the Boss' Council. Usually there are 2 or 3 Bosses at one time. Only a Master/Mistress, Guardian, or Advisor knows who the Bosses real names are.
1b. Boss' Council - A very small council of 2 to 3 people whom run and own the guild.
2. Master/Mistress - Guild members whom have proven themselves and are voted into leadership positions. These members have control over small groups of enforcers and associates. They report directly to a specified Boss or the Boss' Council. They can choose when an Associate becomes eligible to be an Enforcer (they can advise the Boss' Council when an Associate is ready to become a full member, but the ultimate decision is up to the Council unless otherwise instructed).
3. Advisor - Usually rogues who are spies. These members report to the Boss' Council of any hints, potential jobs, potential allies, traitors, suggestions, or warnings. These members not only spy among goverment officials and within town, but also are hidden amongst the ranks of Enforcers and especially Masters/Mistresses to ensure all members maintain loyalty within the guild.
4. Guardian - Low profile members responsible for helping the guild maintain a low profile on illegal activities. Also responsible for keeping members and their activities look as legitimate as possible. These members report directly to the Boss' Council.
5. Enforcer - Those that have proven themselves and contributed enough to go from Associate to Guild Member. These people are responsible for maintaining guild objectives and enforcing the will of the guild on those the Boss' Council deems necessary. They are broken into small groups where they take direct orders and report to their group's Master or Mistress.
6. Associate - Those interested in becoming part of the guild, but not official members yet. These are recruits and do errand boy tasks.
7. Partner - NON guild members whom the guild pays off to commence with illegal activities. These are almost always government officials or guards. An Enforcer or Associate is ALWAYS given the task of giving payment to a Partner.
Anyway....I comment if you are interested in playing and/or the guild.
