Turns out the plans for Atlantic City were more time sensitive than I expected. Dad originally wanted to go when there was an air show in town so he'd have something to enjoy while Mom was having her fun gambling. But then those dates coincided w/ the week Mom has to be back at work for the new school year so they turned it into an anniversary trip scheduled for next week. They'll be gone for essentially 3 days or technically an evening, a full day and night, and then a morning/afternoon when you discount travel time.
Ironically, the last time they went away and left me alone, I went batty w/ the amount of quiet in the house. There's really no one close enough for me to have over so I have to find something fun to take advantage of the freedom. :)
