The Green Room

Mar 26, 2010 23:58

After much deliberation (and by this I of course mean on a whim) I now have a garden in the spare room, which Corrine and my mother simultaneously christened "The Green Room". Everything is looking great so far, I’ve got the spare TV set up in there to watch while I work, a 4 foot set of grow lights, and a billion little plants. I set up a set of shelves today and am waiting for the weather to warm up before I start to sponge some dark green paint I bought onto the walls.

Since I’m a freak and enjoy sharing pictures of my plants like some people enjoy sharing pictures of their children:

My Lithops. <3

My Tomato bush already has a flower on it! :D

My morning glories are getting huge. o__o

These pictures don’t include the other cacti and succulents, chamomile seedlings, orchids (which sadly aren’t in bloom), house plants, lavender, thyme, mint, and other things I have going throughout the apartment and balcony. Yeah, I know I have a lot going on, but these little green guys make not having a yard a lot more bearable. I'm pretty sure Max thinks I'm crazy, though. He "cut me off" at three plants  when we went to home depot last week.

I will admit I am a little worried that the police are going to drop by and ask me why I purchased a set of grow lights. When I told my Nonny I bought them, her immediate reaction was, “You aren’t using them for illegal purposes, I hope.” I pretty much died laughing.

Sorry to disappoint folks. Nothing to see here but basil and Thai pepper seedlings.
