I managed to catch the closest thing to the flu without actually having the flu from Daniel’s new girlfriend (no hard feelings towards her, she seems pretty nice). I then passed that cold onto Max, and Max passed it on to his entire family. Aside from that, Thanksgiving went swimmingly.
It looks like I will be spending a lot more time than I planned at home over break. Mostly because everyone at work descended upon the Holiday shifts like hungry vultures and I got a third of what I was trying to sign up for (my boss even tried to add extra shifts and by the time I got to them all of them were taken too). While panicking over money essentially alone would be great, I’d much rather go panic where I will be around people who can feed me and pay for heat. Also, I’m picking up as many extra shifts as I can during exams to make up for the loss of pay. Goodbye, Saturday night…
On a side note I’ve taken up playing Magic again. It’s a fun enough game, but Max really loves it. So I’m trying to play it and not burn myself out on it all at the same time, which is fairly difficult.
In other news,
this comic has gotten me through my long shifts. Girls with Sligshots has got everything from drinking to vibrators to writers to drag queens to internet references to talking cacti.
